Probably spotted the guy in the video as well!

Looking forward to DB’s review! Spoiler Alert…The 115gr Gold Dot 327 Fed Mag load was IMPRESSIVE in the gel test at Sawmill.

Sweet piece. Looking forward to getting my hands on one! Are they shipping yet? What’s the availability of the 115gr. loads? All I see is the 100gr. Speer doesn’t list the 115 on their website, and others are out of stock or no longer…

Is this load still available? Doesn’t show in stock anywhere and Speer’s website list’s it as unavailable.

I really like that they went with a half lug on these – it just looks ‘right.’ Good on Lipsey’s + Ruger for coming out with a fresh.32 offering.

The guy that commented above you has pretty good taste in cool guns!! The half lug gives this gun a mini redhawk vibe

      • Hammer on August 13, 2024 at 8:34 am

It definitely has a ‘mini redhawk’ vibe. I need to try one. However, I just bought another Colt, so it may have to wait a while…lol.

Bryan: It actually gives the gun a Security Six vibe. We need to start bugging Lipseys to get the Security Six guns re-introduced….

Bruce – a new, limited edition Security Six is a cool idea. And I’m guessing would sell very well.

On a related note, I just don’t understand why Ruger can’t update the SP101 to a 6-shot in .38/357. Others have proven it’s possible in a comparable frame/cylinder size, and I think it really hurts SP101 sales when someone can get the same size package with 6 shots instead of 5 from other manufacturers.

YES! I picked up a Security Six for next to nothing when I was in college. Like an idiot, I sold it to fund something else after a couple of years. I’m still kicking myself for that mistake!

I have one on the way and really want some nice wood boot grips for it. Anyone makers that do SP101 grips?

    • Kenneth Carden on August 23, 2024 at 3:25 pm

Lot s of folks make great grips for the SP101, but I really like the Hogue. I have their rubber grips on my 327 Fed 101 now, but will be changing to wood grips. Recoil is negligible shooting .32 H&R magnum (my EDC ammo) and non-existent when shooting .32 S&W long. https://www.hogueinc.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=sp101

Uhhhggg…I just bought (and sold) a 327 Federal SP101 with a 4” barrel because I had to have those target sights. If only I had my AFR subscription sooner.

  6. JB Gibson on August 18, 2024 at 8:39 am

I should clarify that I sold it due to it being a fairly insensible choice for EDC, which was my blunder. I usually carry a regular 3” SP101, so this may be more manageable.
